Vote on European Union Cybersecurity Label Deferred to May

BRUSSELS: National cybersecurity experts have deferred a vote on a draft European Union cybersecurity label permitting Amazon, Alphabet’s, local media reported on Wednesday.

Microsoft and Google to bid for highly sensitive European Union cloud computing contracts to May, officials and office bears familiar with the matter stated.

The EU wants to bring a cybersecurity certification scheme (EUCS) to promise for the cybersecurity of cloud services and assist governments and firms pick a trusted and secure vendor for their cloud computing business.

However, disagreements on whether or not strict requirements should be implemented on Big Tech to qualify for the highest level of the EU cybersecurity label has hindered efforts.

The experts did not vote on the latest draft of the scheme proposed by EU cybersecurity agency ENISA in 2020, local media reported. Now, reports said that vote on European Union Cybersecurity Label has been deferred to May.
