West Indies Women Outclass Pakistan in ODI Series

KARACHI:  West Indies women’s cricket team thrashed Pakistan in the three-match ODI series after 88-run win in the final match at the National Bank Stadium Karachi on Tuesday.

After winning the first two matches, the visiting team continued their form in the final ODI too.

Both teams are also scheduled to play the five-match T20I series with the first game taking place on April 26.

Earlier winning the toss West Indies Women’s team decided to bat first. Both openers took a cautious start, however West Indies opener Rashada Williams was dismissed by Nashra Sandhu on 9. She was replaced by Shemaine Campbelle who along with Heyley Mathews pushed the scoreboard ahead. Both added 97 crucial runs partnership before Shemaine Campbelle was removed by Fatima Sana on 38. After her dismissal, Stafanie joined Hayley and added 47 valuable runs to the total. Later she was dismissed by Nashra Sandhu.

On the other hand, Heyley Mathews managed to stay on the crease completed her half-century and then moved towards a terrific hundred. Other batters added a few runs to the total. However, opener Heyley smashed Pakistan women’s bowlers to different sides of the boundary. She completed her century and then even moved ahead.

She scored a brilliant 141 innings while facing 141 balls including 19 fours. She was dismissed by Fatima Sana. West Indies Women scored 278 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.

From the Pakistan side, Nashra Sandhu was the leading wicket-taker with 3 for 54 in her 10-over spill. Fatima Sana took 2 while Nida Dar got one wicket.

West Indies has already won the series after grabbing the first two matches against Pakistan.

The three ODI matches would follow 5 T20 matches between the two sides that begin on 26th April in Karachi.
