MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has taken action against a fake advertisement by Indian political party Congress. Khan has filed an FIR with Mumbai Police Station against a fake advertisement. The said advertisement has a deepfake video of Amir Khan created by AI.

The official spokesman of the star has issued a statement adding that Aamir Khan has started a legal action and has reported the matter to the police.

The spokesperson clarified that Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his career.

India is going to elections as earlier main opposition parties stated protest against the arrest of prominent leaders and to also strongly condemn Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, accusing it of fascism, election rigging as well as harassment through tax demands.

Analysts have also raised concerns over Narendra Modi’s use of taxpayer money for self-promotion in the lead-up to the 2024 parliamentary polls. This controversy has also drawn attention from different quarters, with accusations of extravagant spending on advertising drive and the transformation of the recent G-20 summit into a platform for campaigning.
