Aleem Khan Assumes Charge as State Minister Board of Investment

ISLAMABAD: The recently appointed State Minister for the Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan visited BoI on Tuesday following his oath-taking ceremony the previous day.

He was briefed on key initiatives and priorities of the board by Ambreen Iftakhar, Additional Secretary, and Khashi ur Rehman, Executive Director, according to a press statement issued by the board.

The statement said that Aleem Khan’s extensive experience in public service and his steadfast commitment to economic development make him a valuable addition to the Board of Investment.

His visit highlights the government’s dedication to fostering investment and promoting economic development in Pakistan, it added.

Aleem Khan’s Brief Profile

Born on March 5, 1972, in Lahore, Aleem Khan graduated from Government College Lahore in 1992.

He transitioned from a successful businessman to a politician and served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Punjab from 2003 to 2007. During his tenure, he held the position of Minister for Information Technology.

In the General Elections of 2018, Aleem Khan was re-elected to the Punjab Assembly for a second term. He served as Minister for Local Government and Community Development from 2018 to 2019 and subsequently acted as the Senior Minister for Food from 2019 to 2021.
