KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Saturday that his relationship with the public is rooted in genuine affection and love rather than mere politics.

He was addressing a rally in Chachro tehsil of Tharparkar in connection with the general elections in the country scheduled for February 8. The people of Tharparkar had proven that they stood with his party ahead of the general elections in 2024.

He said that the primary objective of the PPP is to eradicate poverty, inflation, and unemployment, advocating for the allocation of hardworking citizens’ taxes to benefit them directly rather than subsidizing the elite or supporting defunct federal ministries.

Encouraging the public to vote for the PPP on February 8, Bilawal Bhutto urged them to contribute to the formation of a government dedicated to serving the people’s interests.

Taking a dig at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, he questioned the absence of the former premier at the Thar Coal project rally if he indeed initiated the project.

Bilawal Bhutto credited the PPP for launching the project with the aim of providing economic benefits to the local population. He announced plans to introduce a train service from Thar to Karachi if the PPP secures victory on February 8.

Bilawal Bhutto accused Nawaz Sharif of attempting to impose his government on Pakistan and establish a puppet setup in Karachi.
