Cars Sale Dips by 50.30% in Nine Months

ISLAMABAD: The sale of cars during the first 9 months of the ongoing fiscal year 2022-23 has decreased by 50.30% compared to the same period last year, the latest data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association on Wednesday showed.

According to the latest data, 85,776 cars were sold during July-March period 2022-23 compared to 172,612 units during July-March 2021-22.

The detailed figures showed that 12,381 Honda Civic and City vehicles were sold during the same period of 2022-23 as opposed to the sale of 28,830 units in the previous year, thus showing a drop of 57.05%.

Yaris and Toyota Corolla cars sales also decreased by 63.39% as they dropped to 15,994 vehicles in the ongoing year from 43,695 cars in the corresponding period of the last year.

Suzuki Swift sale increases

However, Suzuki Swift’s sales increased by 1627.16% to 8,584 cars from 497 vehicles last year.

Sale of Suzuki Cultus dropped to 6,233 cars during the ongoing year, whereas during the same period in the previous year, the sale was recorded at 17,686 cars, while the sale of Suzuki WagonR also dipped to 5,022 cars from 16,916 vehicles in the corresponding period of last year.

Suzuki Alto’s sales also witnessed a sharp drop of 42.25% from 53,241 cars to 30,744 vehicles during the period under review, whereas the sale of Suzuki Bolan dipped to 3,865 cars as compared to the sale of 9,562 cars in the corresponding period of last year. –APP
