Chicken Veggies Rolls A Healthy Option for Iftaar in Ramadan

ISLAMABAD: As Ramadan is approaching very soon let’s explore some delicious recipes for Iftaar when families and friends come together and share delicious food. Iftar is not just about eating; it’s also a time for prayer, reflection, and being thankful.

We will bring you healthy and tasty Iftaar and Sehri recipes. Chicken veggie rolls are a delicious and nutritious option for Iftar during Ramadan and you can make these rolls in large quantity and freeze them for your ease.

Here’s a simple recipe you can try:

Ingredients:

1 kg boneless chicken breast, 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 bell pepper, 1 carrot, 1 cup cabbage, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, salt and pepper to taste, 1 tablespoon olive oil, spring roll wrappers, oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until they turn translucent.
  2. Add thinly sliced chicken breast to the pan and cook until it’s no longer pinks.
  3. Add bell pepper, grated carrot, and sliced cabbage to the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the veggies are tender.
  4. Season the mixture with cumin powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool down slightly.
  6. Take a spring roll wrapper and place a spoonful of the chicken and veggie mixture in the center.
  7. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it up tightly, sealing the edges with a little water.
  8. Heat oil in a deep-frying pan over medium-high heat.
  9. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the rolls to the pan in batches, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  10. Fry the rolls until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
