China to Resume Visa Issuance to Foreigners from 15 March

BEIJING: China would to re-start issuing all categories of visas to foreigners from Wednesday (15 March) to facilitate cross-border travels, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin here on Tuesday.

In his regular briefing, he said that foreign visitors, holding valid visas issued before March 28, 2020, can now enter China.

Furthermore, foreigners with valid visas issued before March 28, 2020, would be allowed to enter the country, as China is adjusting its visa and entry policies to facilitate all kinds of travel across the border.

Visa Issuance to Other Areas

Moreover, the National Immigration Administration stated that visa-free policies would be resumed for entry to the southern island province of Hainan and cruise tour groups at Shanghai ports.

Visa-free entry to the southern Guangdong province would be restored for tour groups of foreigners from Macao and Hong Kong, and a similar mechanism will be applied for tour groups from ASEAN states to enter Guilin in the southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

According to immigration authorities, all the planned policies would come into force on 15 March.
