PESHAWAR: In an unfortunate incident on Tuesday, a police constable, who was on duty for providing security to a polio team in the Mardan district, sustained critical gunshot wounds during an attack in the Pir Saidi area of Tehsil Takhtbhai, local media reported.
According to district police, the injured constable, identified as Zohar, son of Qayyum, suffered serious injuries in the attack. Fortunately, the polio team members remained unharmed.
Upon receiving the distressing news, Rescue 1122 ambulance services and medical team promptly arrived at the scene. The injured constable was swiftly transported to the THQ Hospital, from where he was later referred to MMC for further medical treatment. —APP
