WASHINGTON: An image of John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. from 1989 has been digitally edited to make him look older and used to incorrectly suggest he is still alive in 2024. He was killed in an areophane crash at the age of 38 on July 16, 1999.

The edited image was uploaded on social media with the caption: “JFK Jr. is still alive this is an image of JKF Jr Taken on MARCH 21, 2024.”

However, the original image published by Getty Images, shows JFK Jr. at New York University Law School in 1989.

The edited image originated from an account on social media with the handle @Florenpatriotaq and a “Q” in its name, a link to the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The account uploaded false content regarding celebrities who have passed away in the past, Reuters reported.

Reuters reported that the image was altered and social media posts are falsely claiming he is still alive.
