PESHAWAR: Officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have said that there are no restrictions on foreign tourists visiting the province. In a statement, Barkatullah Marwat, the Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, said that foreigners without a tourist visa must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to visit tourist spots in KP.

Responding to a social media post, Marwat stated that a group of international tourists was briefly stopped at the Swat Expressway toll plaza in Malakand for document verification last day. They were later escorted to their destination with a police escort.

Marwat dismissed speculations circulating on social media platforms and emphasized that the provincial government, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority, warmly welcomes foreign tourists to the province.

He reiterated that there are no restrictions on tourist movement, and they are free to explore tourist destinations in the province as long as they adhere to the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including possessing a tourist visa or obtaining a NOC if their visa is of a different nature.
