Fact Check: World Economic Forum Founder Hospitalized

COLOGNY: A large number of social media posts suggesting founder of World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab is seriously ill in hospital are baseless, a spokesperson for the Switzerland-based WEF said. The social media posts emerged across various platforms following an article regarding Schwab’s health was published by the Weekly Crier website last week. One post on Social Media was viewed over two million times. However, a WEF spokesperson rejected the media reports about Schwab’s illness.

The spokesperson rejected the social media claims and said that Professor Schwab is in good health and that he has not been hospitalized recently. The spokesperson termed the claims as baseless. And said that it is a form of disinformation. Reuters reported that there are also no credible news reports of Professor Schwab having been hospitalized in April 2024.  After media investigated that matter it did not discover any evidence that WEF’s founder was hospitalized in April 2024.
