Fans Remember Ustad Asad Amanat Ali on Death Anniversary

LAHORE: Fans of famous classical singer Ustad Asad Amanat Ali Khan observed his 17th death anniversary on Monday.

Asad Amanat was born on September 25, 1955 in Lahore to family of musicians.  He recorded his first song when he was just 10 years old.

His great-grandfather, Ali Baksh Khan, founded of Patiala Gharana and his grandfather Akhtar Hussain was a classical music maestro. His uncle Fateh Ali Khan taught him classical music and trained him as his own son.

Asad Amanat Ali Khan began his musical career performing classical music. His father Ustad Amant Ali Khan was also a renowned classical and ghazal singer.

Asad also sang hit songs in Punjabi and later went on to releasing albums of ghazals and light music.

He was loved by the people all over south Asian region. His renowned personality was charismatic and his voice was very sweet.

He performed at different private events, both locally and internationally. Asad Amanat Ali Khan sang over 1,000 songs for Pakistan entertainment industry.

The government of Pakistan awarded him President’s Pride of Performance award in 2007.  He passed away due to heart attack on April 8, 2007, in London.
