Fareedullah Undergoes Successful Surgery

LAHORE: Pakistan football player Fareedullah Khan underwent a successful surgery to treat his clavicle fracture, officially said in a statement.

The Pakistan Football Federation’s Normalisation Committee (PFF NC) said that Fareedullah broke down while tackling a Jordan’s defender during the first half of their FIFA World Cup qualifier clash in Amman.

A statement from the PFF NC said that upon Fareedullah’s return to Pakistan, he had received medical treatment. He was shifted from the airport to the hospital for necessary medical treatment. The statement added that after the recommendation of PFF’s medical staff, a scan was also performed, which showed the necessity for urgent surgical intervention. It added that Consultant Orthopedic and Sports Surgeon Dr Amir Sohail had performed the surgery in Lahore.

It said that the young forward was advised to take rest and undergo rehabilitation for ten weeks before returning to the game. The statement further said that Fareedullah’s comeback is subject to his successful completion of the rehabilitation programme.
