Trophy Unveiled as Central Asian Volleyball Championship Begins from Saturday

ISLAMABAD: Liaqat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad is all set to host the highly anticipated Engro Central Asian Volleyball Championship, to begin from May 11 (Saturday) at the beautiful complex.

In total six national teams from Central Asian countries, including Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Pakistan would contest for the title.

Meanwhile on Friday, trophy of the championship was unveiled amid a ceremony being hosted by Serena Hotels. The exciting event would continue till 17th of this month where the fans would be entertained by exciting and thrilling contests among the six teams.

Matches in Central Asian Volleyball Championship

The first contest of the championship would be played between Turkmenistan and Iran, that would be followed by a thrilling contest between Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Government of Pakistan, will grace the launching ceremony as the chief guest.

After the inauguration ceremony, volleyball teams from Pakistan and Afghanistan would be in action at 6:30 PM, setting the stage for an exciting beginning of the tournament.

Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Sports Board for providing the facilities to host the exciting event in Pakistan. PVF also acknowledged the invaluable support of the Director General of Sports, the Minister of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), and the Secretary of IPC, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in making this event a reality.
