KARACHI: Police announced Wednesday that they are investigating the bizarre and tragic case in which a young man shot and killed his best friend after he ate zinger burger the defendant had ordered for his “girlfriend.”
According to a media report, the victim is 17-year-old Ali Kerio, the son of the Karachi South Sessions Judge, and the shooting suspect, Daniyal Nazir Mir Bahar, the son of Nazir Ahmad Mir Bahar, retired Superintendent of Police (SSP).
According to the investigation, Daniyal invited his girlfriend Shazia along with his friend Ali Kerio and his brother Ahmar Kerio to his house in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V on February 8.
According to the report, the accused ordered two zinger burgers for himself and Shazia, but Ali ate half of one, which angered Daniel, who grabbed the guard’s assault rifle and fired at Ali, who was later shot dead.
Investigators have completed their investigation and submitted a report to higher authorities implicating the police officer’s son in the crime. Daniel is currently in prison and the legal process of this case continues.
