RAWALPINDI: The funeral of the seven martyred soldiers of the Pakistan Army, who embraced martyrdom in a terror attack in Northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was offered at Bannu Cantt, a statement from ISPR said on Saturday.

“The martyrs will be buried in their native areas with full military honors. However, a large number of military and civil officials including General Officer Commanding Major General Anjum Riaz attended the funeral prayers,” the ISPR said.

“Pakistan Army will continue to render sacrifices till the last drop of blood for the defence of the dear motherland,” the ISPR added.

Earlier today, ISPR said in a statement that seven security personnel including two officers embraced martyrdom during a terrorist attack on security forces’ post and ensuing clearance operation in North Waziristan in the early hour of this morning.

The statement read that a group of six terrorists attacked a security forces’ post in Mir Ali of North Waziristan District. The ISPR added, “As own troops foiled the initial attempt of intrusion, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the post, followed by multiple suicide bombing attacks, which led to the collapse of a portion of a building, resulting into Shahadat of five brave sons of the soil.”

The ISPR maintained, “During the conduct of ensuing clearance operation, own troops led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, effectively engaged and sent to hell all six terrorists.”

It maintained, “During intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali (age: 39 years, resident of Karachi) and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar (age: 23 years, resident of District Talagang), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat”.
