NEW DELHI: Hardik Pandya, the versatile all-rounder, has announced his readiness to bowl in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), providing a significant boost to both Mumbai and India ahead of the T20 World Cup in June. Pandya had been sidelined since last October due to an ankle injury sustained during a World Cup match in Pune.

However, the 30-year-old, who has taken over as captain for Mumbai Indians in this year’s IPL, has confirmed his return to full fitness since January, assuring reporters that he will be bowling.

Reflecting on his injury, Pandya clarified that it was an isolated incident unrelated to his past fitness or injuries. With his recovery, Pandya is poised to assume the role of India’s primary seam bowling all-rounder at the T20 World Cup in the West Indies.

Although the leadership change in Mumbai raised eyebrows, Pandya expressed confidence that it wouldn’t affect his rapport with India captain Rohit Sharma. Having played alongside Rohit for a decade, Pandya is optimistic about their continued camaraderie.

Despite Rohit’s absence due to prior commitments, Pandya anticipates a reunion and a conversation upon his return.
