IED Blast Kills Seven People in Pakistan’s Southwestern Balochistan Province

TURBAT: At least seven people, including a local government representative, were killed when an improvised explosive device hit a vehicle in the Turbat district of Pakistan’s Southwestern Balochistan province, security officials said on Monday night.

Officials from the Levies force confirmed the incident, revealing that the explosion occurred in the Balgatar area of Turbat district. The vehicle, while passing through Balgatar, was exploded with an improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in the loss of seven lives, including Ishaq Baloch, Chairman of the Union Council (UC).

The force of the explosion was such that the vehicle was completely obliterated, adding to the magnitude of the tragedy.

Levies officials have confirmed that the blast was triggered by a remote-controlled device.

Suicide Attack

Earlier today, a suicide bomber reportedly detonated himself near a security forces vehicle in the restive North West Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, resulting in the tragic deaths of a married couple. Security forces have indicated that the targeted vehicle belonged to the bomb disposal squad of the security forces and was attacked in the Ghulam Khan area of the North Waziristan district, which shares a border with Afghanistan.
