CHENNAI: Chennai is set to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) final on May 26, marking its return to the spotlight after a hiatus of 12 years, as confirmed by the Indian cricket board (BCCI) with the release of the complete schedule for the T20 franchise tournament. Initially, the BCCI had disclosed only the fixtures for the first two weeks, comprising 21 matches, but now the entire schedule has been unveiled, considering the national general election polling dates.

In the playoff phase, the first qualifier between the top two ranked teams will take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21, along with the eliminator between the subsequent two best teams the following day. Subsequently, the playoffs will shift to Chennai, the home ground of the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Chennai will host the second qualifier on May 24, leading up to the grand finale on May 26.

Furthermore, Punjab Kings are slated to play in Dharamsala, where they will face off against Chennai and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Rajasthan Royals will conclude their campaign with two matches in Guwahati.
