Lahore and Karachi have found their place among the top 10 worst-polluted cities in the world.
According to IQAir — a platform that provides real-time air quality information, Lahore has been ranked the second most polluted country followed by Karachi, which has been listed as the third worst most polluted city across the globe.
According to data, Lahore has an air quality index (AQI) of 172 and Karachi has 171.
The air quality between 151-200 is listed as ‘unhealthy’ by IQAir.
China’s Beijing continues to retain its top position on the list as the most polluted city in the world with an air quality of 178 in the index.
China’s three cities have made it to the list of the top 10 polluted cities in the world.
It is estimated that 7 million people die of air pollution every year and billions suffer from the effects of poor air quality.
