Meteorological Department Forecasts Dry Weather in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country while warm during the day in plain areas during the next 24 hours.

However, light rain is expected in southern areas of the country. 

Lowest temperatures recorded

The Met Office recorded the lowest temperature of -08 Celsius in Leh, -02 °C in Kalam, -01°C in Astore, and 00°C in Skardu.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. However, A shallow westerly wave is present over southern Punjab and south-eastern Sindh during the next 24 hours.

Air Quality and Weather 

As per the air quality index (AQI), the air quality in Rawalpindi is 83 US AQI, 224 in Lahore, 158 in Mangla, 177 in Muridke, and 192 in Faisalabad. In Sindh, the air quality is 171 in Karachi, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 76. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 91 in Peshawar and 33 in Abbottabad.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 17°C in Lahore, 20°C in Karachi, 13°C in Peshawar, and 11.5°C in Gilgit.
