ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari Tuesday presided over a meeting aimed at shifting Balochistan’s agricultural tube wells to solar power.
The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Power, Chief Secretary Balochistan, and other officials of the concerned ministries.
The minister pointed out the significant annual loss of Rs 80 billion incurred under the current system. He also asked Quetta Electric Supply Company officials to provide detailed information regarding feeders dedicated to agricultural tube wells.
Expressing the government’s unwavering commitment, the minister announced plans for swift action to shift these tube wells to solar energy. The further plans will be devised in consultation with all stakeholders, ensuring a sustainable and efficient energy solution for province’s agricultural sector.
