Mumtaz Asks India to Lift Ban on Pakistani Actors

MUMBAI: Veteran Bollywood actress Mumtaz has called for an end to the ban on Pakistani actors in India.

Renowned Bollywood actress has recently taken a memorable trip to Pakistan alongside her sister.

She also shared glimpses of her visit on social media, by posting photos and videos featuring interactions with local actors and classical singers.

In an interview with Indian media, Mumtaz admired the hospitality extended to her by Pakistani artists and stressed to end the ban on Pakistani actors and singers in India.

She said that Pakistani artists should be allowed to come and work in India. She was of the view that Pakistani actors and singers are extremely talented.

During the interview, she recounted heartwarming moments from her Pakistan trip. Mumtaz shared how actor Fawad Khan booked an entire restaurant to welcome her while she also praised the resilience of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who performed on the occasion despite being unwell.

Mumtaz, a prominent actor in Indian cinema since the 1960s, started working at the age of 11 with ‘Sone Ki Chidiya.’

She has been a part of several hit films like ‘Do Raaste,’ ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna,’ and ‘Apradh’.
