Over 2.4 Million Children Receive Polio Drops in Multan

MULTAN: In a rigorous effort to combat polio, more than 2.4 million children received polio drops during the second day of a three-day vaccination campaign launched across the Multan, Punjab.

According to a statement issued here on Thursday, Commissioner Maryam Khan said that the initiative involved the deployment of over 10,000 teams tasked with administering polio vaccines to approximately 2.6 million children under the age of 5 across four districts within Multan division.

Emphasizing the collective responsibility in eradicating polio, she stressed that it was a social responsibility of all residents of the region to contribute to the effort. She reiterated a commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards polio, underscoring the necessity for the campaign’s success.

The significant participation and resource mobilization highlight the commitment of policymakers and medical professionals to attaining the objective of a polio-free country, demonstrating a coordinated effort to protect the health and welfare of the next generation. –APP
