Over 28 Thousand Candidates Submit Nomination Papers for Pakistan’s General Election 2024

ISLAMABAD: As the General Elections 2024 are approaching, a total of 28626 candidates from across the country have submitted their nomination papers for the national and provincial assemblies. According to the data received from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), here on Monday, among the total number, female candidates submitted their papers for 1273 general and 1824 reserved seats. 

As far as the reserved seats for non-Muslims are concerned, 543 candidates have submitted their nomination papers, including 42 women. 

Nomination Papers for Nation and Provincial Assemblies

For the National Assembly, 7242 male and 471 female candidates have submitted their papers for the general seats, while 459 women have made their entries for the reserved seats. For Islamabad, 182 male nominees and 26 female candidates submitted their papers for the national assembly seats.

For Punjab Assembly, 8592 male and 437 female candidates have submitted their papers for the general seats, while 601 women and 127 non-Muslims submitted their papers for the provincial seats.

For the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 3349 male and 115 female candidates submitted their papers in the general category, while 321 female and 74 non-Muslims made their entries for reserved seats.

For the Sindh Assembly, 4060 male and 205 females made their entries for the general seats while 309 women and 125 non-Muslims submitted their papers. 

According to the data released by ECP, 1743 male and 45 females submitted their nomination papers for the provincial seats of the Baluchistan Assembly, while 134 female and 167 non-Muslim candidates have submitted their papers.

The General Election will be held on 8th February 2024, where voters will cast their votes both for national and provincial assemblies across the country. Over 127 million registered voters would cast their vote in the coming polls. It also included the newly 21 million registered voters against the number of voters in General Election 2018.
