LAHORE: Pakistan fast bowler Ihsanullah departed for Manchester, England, on Sunday for a medical consultation with renowned orthopedic surgeon Professor Adam Watts scheduled for Monday. The purpose of the consultation is to address Ihsanullah’s persistent elbow issue.

Ihsanullah, who last played for Pakistan during his ODI debut in April 2023, suffered a recurrence of his elbow injury during the recently concluded Pakistan Super League, where he represented Multan Sultans.

Professor Watts is esteemed for his expertise in sports injuries, trauma surgery, shoulder and elbow treatments, as well as hand and wrist surgery.

The initiative to secure this appointment was a collaborative effort between Multan Sultans and the PCB. As his parent organization, the PCB will cover all expenses related to Ihsanullah’s medical care and subsequent rehabilitation.

In a press release, the PCB stated, “Fast bowler Ihsanullah departed for Manchester, England, on Sunday morning for a crucial appointment with esteemed orthopedic surgeon Professor Adam Watts regarding his elbow injury. Professor Watts specializes in hand and wrist surgery, shoulder and elbow procedures, sports injuries, and trauma surgery.”

The statement further noted, “Updates on Ihsanullah’s condition will be communicated by the PCB subsequent to Professor Watts’ assessment and diagnosis.”

At 21 years old, Ihsanullah has represented Pakistan in only five international matches, with his latest appearance dating back to April 2023 against New Zealand.
