Pakistan Navy Clinches Champions Title of 7th CNS Open Shooting Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy clinched the 7th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Open Shooting Championship 2023 title with 35 Gold, 17 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals, whereas the Sindh team secured the runner position. Almost four hundred shooters from all over the country participated in the week-long Championship.

The Championship’s closing ceremony was organized at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range, PNS BAHADUR, in Karachi. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was the Chief Guest on occasion.

He awarded medals and trophies to the Championship’s winners and lauded the efforts of organizers and the support of sponsors and sports shooters from all over the country to make the Championship a success.

Events During the Championship

During the Championship, a total of 27 events, including eleven men, five women, and four in youth categories, were contested. In order to promote the game of shooting among youth and for the interest of local sports shooting lovers, seven events of Big Bore Pistol and Big Bore Rifle categories were also arranged, which were non-scoring towards overall points of the event.

Nearly four hundred shooters from the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Pakistan Navy, ASF, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, HEC, FRA, SSU, and Sindh Police teams and different shooting clubs from Karachi participated in the event and displayed their skills in the sport.

All matches were contested under the umbrella of the National Rifle Association of Pakistan as per the International Sports Shooting Federation’s latest rules and regulations.
