Pakistan-US Celebrates 75 Years of Bilateral Relations

ISLAMABAD: The United States (US) Embassy in Islamabad is marking 75 years of bilateral relations with Pakistan by illuminating the building at Constitution Avenue in the federal capital of Pakistan.

The illumination started on the evening of 3rd January and will continue through 11th January, the US Embassy in Islamabad said in a press release on Wednesday. 

The three-dimensional 3D illumination and moving projection highlights key themes and images of US-Pakistan relations from the past 75 years. Previously used with popular landmarks such as the Washington Monument and the Eiffel tower, this type of projection has yet to be seen before in Pakistan.

On the occasion, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Mission, Andrew Schofer, stated, “Through 75 years of diplomatic ties, the United States has worked with Pakistan to support agriculture, energy, public health, education, people-to-people connections, and infrastructure.

We are proud to employ this unique technology to show the Pakistani people the depth and breadth of our longstanding bilateral partnership. We look forward to exploring future collaboration and partnership opportunities, including through the U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance framework.

Over the past 75 years, he added that the US and Pakistan had created a cooperation based on shared values and mutual respect, building a partnership that has been advantageous to US and Pakistan. 

He said that the US had invested over $32 billion over the decades to improve Pakistani people’s lives, strengthen our bilateral collaboration, and advance our mutual interests.
