ISLAMABAD: World Class batting maestro, top batter, and Pakistan’s former skipper Babar Azam has once again clinched the number one slot in the ICC ODI rankings for batters while dethroning Indian opener Shubman Gill.
As per the newly released ICC ranking, Babar has 824 points, 14 more than the Indian batter, who has 810 points. Interestingly, the third and fourth positions in the list are also occupied by Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, with 775 and 754 points, respectively.
Babar Azam resumed the top slot after an interval of more than a month when Gill occupied the place for a short period. Recently, Gill has been rested for the ongoing series against South Africa.
ICC T20 Rankings
In the bowling rankings, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid has ascended two spots to clinch the top post earlier occupied by Rashid Khan from Afghanistan (now second), followed by India’s Ravi Bishnoi as number three in the T20I rankings.
In the T20 batting rankings, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has consolidated his top slot after smashing a quick century in the final match of India’s series against South Africa, followed by Pakistani batter Muhammad Rizwan and South African Aiden Markram as second and third, respectively.

Aussie skipper Pat Cummins ascended to the third spot, while Nathan Lyon moved ahead three spots to reach the fifth position. Mitchell Starc managed to clinch eighth while Josh Hazlewood has moved two spots ahead to occupy 10th position in the ICC bowling ranking in Test.
