Pakistan’s President Emphasizes Enhanced Aerial Connectivity with Other Nations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday emphasized the need to enhance Pakistan’s aerial connections with other nations.

Talking to a delegation of Air Asia Aviation Group in Islamabad, the president said that the potential of Pakistan’s tourism sector can be fully exploited by increasing people-to-people contacts.

He said that Pakistan has abundant tourism opportunities, especially religious sites.

President Asif Zardari further said that investors should invest in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) by taking advantage of the best investment opportunities it offers.

The delegation apprised the president about the Air Asia Aviation Group and its flight operations.

Tourism Opportunities in Pakistan

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan is a guardian of some of the most sacred Shrines and religious heritages of Sikh, Buddhist, and Hindu religions and proudly offers a great opportunity for religious tourism to common tourists and religious devotees from across the world, especially India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan.

The country hosts important religious sites of multiple faiths including the Buddhist heritage of the Gandhara civilization, Nankana Sahib (the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak), Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartar Pur, Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal, Qila Katas, and Hinglai Mata Temple, etc.

Thousands of Sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus from within the country and across the world visit these sacred places every year.
