LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the reconstitution of the national women’s team’s selection committee, expanding its membership to seven members.

This move follows the team’s recent whitewash by the West Indies women’s team in a three-match one-day international (ODI) series. Despite the disappointing series, Pakistan maintains its fifth position in the ICC Women Championship 2022-25, positioning them favorably for direct qualification to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

Notable inclusions in the new selection panel are Abdul Razzaq and Asad Shafiq from the men’s national selection committee, along with former international player Batool Fatima. Additionally, Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal have been retained from the previous committee.

The coach and captain will also serve on the selection committee. The primary task ahead for the newly formed committee is to select players for the upcoming tour of England, featuring three T20Is and three ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 fixtures scheduled from May 11 to 29.
