LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint South Africa’s ex-pacer Morne Morkel as the bowling coach for the national cricket team.

According to local media, the PCB had appointed Umar Gul as an interim coach, and now it had reached an agreement with the South African cricketer.

Morkel is expected to join the Pakistani squad during the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to be played in July.

Morkel played international cricket between 2006 and 2018. The South African star was a right-arm fast bowler and lower-order left-handed batsman.

The training camp for the Sri Lanka series will be held in the first week of next month.
