MUZAFFARGARH: The Punjab Food Authority took swift action against adulterated milk, disposing of approximately 980 liters following inspections at a main highway picket, as reported by an official spokesman on Thursday.

During the highway blockade, the food safety team inspected 13 vehicles transporting milk and uncovered the mixing of undesired ingredients. Owners of these milk vehicles were collectively fined Rs. 10,000 for the violations.

DG PFA, Asim Javed, highlighted that traces of water and chemicals, along with a shortage of essential fats, were detected in the milk through lacto machine tests. The contaminated liquid was promptly disposed of on-site.

Javed emphasized the critical nature of milk as a daily essential and condemned those endangering public health through food adulteration, labeling such individuals as criminals. He urged the public to collaborate with Punjab Food Authority members to combat the adulteration mafia operating in their communities.
