ISLAMABAD: Discover the art of crafting the ideal Potato Pinwheel Samosa Sticks, a delectable and crunchy Ramadan speciality perfect for breaking fast!

Ingredients:

Flour Batter:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • Water, as needed

Potato Mixture:

  • 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup chopped green coriander
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Pinwheel Potato Sticks:

  • Leftover roti, as needed
  • Potato mixture, as needed
  • Flour batter, as needed
  • Bread crumbs, as needed
  • Wooden sticks, as needed
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a runny coating mixture by combining flour, red chili flakes, salt, red chili powder, and water in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, mix mashed potatoes, chopped green coriander, red chili powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Spread the potato mixture onto the leftover roti.
  4. Roll the roti with the potato mixture into a cylinder shape, then cut it into 9 equal parts.
  5. Thread 2 pinwheel potato pieces onto each wooden skewer.
  6. Dip the skewered potatoes into the flour batter, then coat them evenly with bread crumbs.
  7. Shallow-fry the coated potato sticks until they turn crispy and golden brown.
