PSX Reached Another All Time High as Index Crosses 55,000 Points

ISLAMABAD: Bullish Trend continued at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for the last couple of days and reaching all-time high for a number of times. On Friday, the 100-index not only gained the highest points in one day during last months, but the benchmark crossed the 55,000 level, setting a new record high. The index gained 1130 points to settle 55391 at against 54,261 last day.

On Friday at around 240 pm, the index even reached at 55,485.43 level with an increase of 1,224.01 points, however then settled at 55391 at closing. Lat day when the index closed at 54,261, that was also an all-time high.

Meanwhile. Friday also observed an all-time high volume during the last one year, where 617 million shares were transacted

Continued Bullish Trend at PSX

During the day, buying was witnessed, with index-heavy sectors including automobile assemblers, cement, fertiliser, chemical, power generation and distribution, refinery, oil and gas exploration companies and OMCs traded in the green zone.

Market experts believe the improved macroeconomic indicators including a decline in the country’s current account deficit, (reducing to $8 million in September 2023), a drop in CPI-based inflation, the recent announcement of the general election, positive response from the IMF etc were some the indicators taking the index to historic high.
