US Ambassador Calls on Chairman Senate, Discuss Pakistan-US Ties

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Wednesday called on Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani at the parliament house in Islamabad.

Both discussed Pakistan-US bilateral ties as well as the promotion of people-to-people contacts.

The envoy felicitated Yusuf Raza Gilani on assuming the office of the Chairman Senate.

Ambassador in Police Training College Inauguration Ceremony

A day earlier, US Ambassador Donald Blome took part in the inauguration of a Police Training College campus in Quetta on Tuesday, marking the commencement of a 4-year, 5.35 million US dollar collaboration funded by the US Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section.

During his address at the ceremony, he underlined the importance of the 7 new and 4 renovated buildings within the campus.

He stressed that these additions not only triple the capacity of the Police Training College but also ensure that new recruits and officers receive high-quality, skills-based training essential for deployment in Pakistan’s most challenging areas.
