RIYADH: A delegation of senior aides and advisors of US Congress members visited the Saudi Shura Council headquarters on Wednesday in Riyadh and met with Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, the assistant speaker of the Council.

The meeting forms part of the US delegation’s ongoing visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Al-Ahmadi extended a warm welcome to the delegation and delivered an overview of the Shura Council’s functions, specialized committees, and legislative and supervisory roles.

She emphasized the council’s active engagement in international unions and underscored the efforts of parliamentary friendship committees.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Ahmadi discussed the significant advancements across various sectors in Saudi Arabia, particularly in the legislative framework.

The discussions during the meeting encompassed bilateral relations between the two nations, parliamentary affairs, and topics of mutual interest.

Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nahas, the head of the Saudi-American Parliamentary Friendship Committee, along with committee members Major General Ali Al Sheikh, Dr. Reem Al Yahya, Dr. Faisal Al Fadl, Prof. Bandar Asiri, and Dr. Najwa Al Ghamdi attended the meeting.
