Uzbekistan and France Inaugurate Economic Chamber in Tashkent

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan and France have inaugurated an economic chamber in Tashkent, as reported by Trend.
According to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, discussions centered on the potential activities of French companies in various sectors in Uzbekistan, including agriculture, tourism, mining, and energy.
At the event, both sides emphasized providing comprehensive support for the further development of mutually beneficial projects.
Laziz Kudratov, Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, and Joanna Golas, President of the Uzbekistan-France Economic Chamber, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. This memorandum outlines specific mechanisms for further collaboration within the priority areas of the Chamber’s activities.
The France-Uzbekistan Economic Chamber brings together over 50 French and Uzbek companies and entrepreneurs. It maintains relations with government authorities in both countries and provides advice on improving the business climate.
In the first three months of 2024, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France amounted to $337.1 million. Exports totaled $237.3 million, while imports stood at $99.8 million during this period
