BAHAWALPUR: In the Ghalla Mandi (Grain Market) of Yazman tehsil, Bahawalpur district, the price of high-quality wheat soared to Rs 3,725 per mound, marking a significant increase.
On Tuesday, the fresh yield of wheat was being sold at Rs 3,200 per mound in Bahawalpur. However, in Ghalla Mandi Yazman, the price surged to Rs 3,725 per mound, driven by the influx of wheat from nearby areas, particularly the wheat fields of Cholistan.
Meanwhile, the average quality wheat was still being sold at Rs 3,200 per mound in Bahawalpur.
Additionally, mustard, which was extensively cultivated in Cholistan, fetched prices ranging from Rs 6,300 to 6,700 per mound in Ghalla Mandi Yazman.
In terms of other commodities, Desi Shakkar (Brown Sugar) was priced at Rs 5,300 to 6,000 per 40 kilograms, while Gurr (Jaggery) was being sold at Rs 4,500 to 6,700 per 40 kilograms.
