LONDON: Chelsea dominated the League Cup semi-final, securing their place in the final with a commanding 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough.

The Blues effortlessly overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, with goals from Jonny Howson (own goal), Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi, Cole Palmer, and late strikes from Palmer and Noni Madueke.

This resounding win not only propels Mauricio Pochettino’s team to Wembley next month but also marks a potential turning point in the early stages of his managerial tenure.

While a more challenging matchup looms against either Premier League leaders Liverpool or local rivals Fulham on February 25, promising signs suggest that Pochettino’s expensively-assembled yet still developing squad is starting to gel.

“Today we were very clinical in front of goal. We missed that in the first leg and we were disappointed. Today we were really good and I think that is the difference,” said Pochettino.
