ISLAMABAD: Potato rings are an ideal snack to accompany a cosy winter teatime. Enhanced with spicy masala and creamy cheese sauce, they become even more delectable.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Potatoes
- 1/2 cup Semolina
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 2 tbsp Corn flour
- 2 tbsp Garlic
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Paprika powder
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp Chilli sauce
Instructions:
- Blend semolina until smooth and set aside.
- Melt butter in a pan, sauté garlic for a minute, then add water and semolina. Mix well over medium flame, season with salt, red chilli powder, and chilli flakes, and cook until water evaporates. Set aside to cool.
- Boil potatoes in simmering water until fully cooked. Set aside.
- Mash boiled potatoes in a bowl, and add semolina mixture, corn flour, coriander leaves, flour, and oil. Mix well.
- Knead the mixture into a dough, flatten it on a mat, and cut rings using a round cutter.
- Deep fry rings until golden brown. Set aside.
- Blend oregano, garlic powder, red chilli powder, paprika, onion powder, and salt to make masala powder. Set aside.
- For cheese sauce, in a pan, combine milk, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, mayo, paprika, salt, and chilli sauce. Cook until the desired thickness is reached over medium-low flame.
- Arrange potato rings on a serving plate, sprinkle masala on top or drizzle with cheese sauce.
- Serve and enjoy your flavourful cheesy potato rings.
