ANKARA: A digital media and disinformation expert has exposed a false video of a woman posing as a nurse claiming that Hamas stole fuel and medicines from a hospital in Gaza. Marc Owen Jones, an associate professor at Hamad bin Khalifa University in Qatar, said that the video was clearly staged.
The video was posted on the social media platform X formerly twitter on Saturday and was seen by more than 13 million viewers before it was deleted.

The lady posing as a nurse said that Hamas stole fuel and medicines from the Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip.Marc Owen Jones in the post first questioned the dodgy accent of the woman, or the well-lit room despite Hamas apparently stealing all the fuel and the sound effects of bombing.

He also said the woman in the video was wearing a mask, however, nurses rarely wear masks in the published videos of the Al-Shifa Hospital. He noted the fact that the woman was also alone in the environment which is not possible in the current situation.

Israeli strikes in Gaza have so far killed more than 11,078 Palestinians, including women and children, while others are facing starvation and struggling to survive, with essential supplies blockaded.
