WASHINGTON: Taylor Swift and Tom Hanks are not going to boycott the Oscars over its “woke” policies, Reuters reported.
A false headline appears in an article uploaded on March 23 on the website Mind Lose, where it is declared as being in the “satire” section, along with other news articles all containing the word “woke” in their top headlines.
However, one social media sharing the headline, “Taylor Swift and Tom Hanks Boycott Oscars Over ‘Woke’ Policies: ‘We Stand for True Talent,” carries a link in the comment section to a blog post dated March 24.
The article cities Hanks as adding that the Oscars must celebrate talent, not conform to political ideologies” and maintains that Swift “echoed Hanks’ sentiments, highlighting the significance of recognizing sincere artistic merit over conforming to industry tendencies.”
Reuters reported that the headline claiming that Tom Hanks and Taylor Swift are boycotting the Oscars over its “woke” policies originated in an article labeled as satire.
