PARIS: Clip of people dancing in a nightclub in California in the 1980s has been changed to create a deepfake of French President Macron, Reuters reported on Monday. According to western media, the video surfaced in different platforms of social media. Several social media users in France and Russia also posted the video on TikTok.

A social media user shared the clip and wrote: “President Macron before the starting of political life! However, the clip is a manipulated version of a video showing people dancing in the 1980s, having been digitally edited to include President Macron’s face.
According to Reuters the video was altered and described it as a fake. The Face of French President Emmanuel Macron has been falsely added to dancers from 80s nightclub clip.
