Japanese Envoy Meets Pakistan’s Law Minister

ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, WADA Mitsuhiro, paid a courtesy visit to Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Minister for Law and Justice, on Tuesday.

During their meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interests, cultural exchange, and traditional values, as stated in a press release. Minister Tarar highlighted Japan’s significant friendship with Pakistan, particularly acknowledging Japan’s assistance during the 2022 floods.

Security matters were also on the agenda, with both parties addressing measures to ensure the safety of all foreign personnel within the country. Minister Tarar emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment and special attention to security concerns. He mentioned the establishment of a special protection unit, directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to enhance security measures.

Regarding the economy, Minister Tarar expressed optimism about its improvement, citing the government’s determination for economic revival.

Furthermore, ongoing legal reforms were discussed during the meeting. Minister Tarar assured the ambassador of Pakistan’s government’s full support in facilitating foreign dignitaries residing in the country.
