SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that India cannot keep its illegal occupation of Kashmir for long and the day is not far away when the occupied territory will be liberated from its yoke.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement from Srinagar, voiced concern over the escalating atrocities and injustices in IIOJK (Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir). He condemned the prolonged illegal detention of Hurriyet leadership, youth, and activists held in Indian jails and within the occupied territory.

Minhas listed numerous political detainees, including APHC chairman Massarat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, and others, who are languishing in various jails across India and the occupied region.

He emphasized that despite arrests and brutalities during cordon-and-search operations and house raids, the Kashmiris’ desire for freedom cannot be quelled. He reiterated that the Kashmiri people will persist in their struggle for liberation until they achieve complete success.

Highlighting that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute, Minhas pointed out that the United Nations has pledged to resolve it by granting the right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir.

The APHC spokesperson appealed to the global community to address the Kashmir dispute and investigate the war crimes committed by Indian troops in IIOJK, urging for accountability for the perpetrators.   — APP
