Musk’s X Forced by Court to Block Some Accounts in Brazil

BRASILIA: X, formerly known as Twitter has been forced by court verdicts to block several popular accounts in Brazil and is also prohibited from giving details of the order, the firm said in a statement. Elon Musk said in a statement via X that this order might lead to a total loss of revenue and closure of the offices in Brazil, pledging that he would lawfully challenge the order.

The firm stated it is not aware why the court has issued the order and barred from giving details and information of the impacted accounts, saying that it is threatened with daily fines if it fails to fulfil.

Musk said that the court has applied massive fines, threatened to apprehend their employees and cut off access to X formally known as Twitter in Brazil. He stated when referring to a user’s post, on the Supreme Court Justice “free speech crackdown.”

Earlier, the judge ordered probe into executives at social messaging platform Telegram and Alphabet’s Google, who were in charge of a drive criticizing a proposed regulation bill regarding internet.
