JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has hailed the decision of Jamaica to recognize the State of Palestine, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
The OIC stressed that this crucial measure is in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions.
It also backed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, which includes their right to create an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The OIC urges all nations that have not yet done so to recognize the State of Palestine. Its statement upholds global endeavors to achieve a fair and enduring peace in the region through the implementation of the two-state solution, according to international agreements.
