ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s cabinet has given its nod to include the names of 24 individuals including journalist Sami Ibrahim and Imran Riaz Khan on the Exit Control List (ECL) on Thursday, a summary circulated through the cabinet by the Interior Ministry stated.
The federal cabinet also approved the withdrawal of the names of 22 individuals, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan, from the no-fly list, whose inclusion in December 2023 was linked to the Al-Qadri Trust case.
This decision was made through a circulating process initiated by the Ministry of Interior.
The inclusion or removal of names from the ECL was a result of comprehensive discussions and considerations, with the Federal Cabinet granting approval based on recommendations presented by the Sub-Committee on ECL.
